The issue

We came into contact with Feadship through our production partner Level5. Level5 maintains close ties with VolkerWessels, which in turn is the link to Feadship. The company that designs and produces luxury superyachts has a company restaurant on the first floor with an adjacent (empty) terrace. Feadship had the desire to start using this terrace as an extension of the restaurant. But if we are going to do that; then circular and socially responsible!

The solution provided

They chose dark concrete elements obtained from residual concrete combined with upcycled scaffolding boards. These planks have already had a life on the construction site, but at some point were rejected for scaffolding purposes. We take care of the planks by deburring, sanding and, in this case, oiling them. That way they can last for years again! At the front of the building we chose a triple picnic set-up, which provides plenty of space for coffee, lunch, as well as outdoor work or meetings. The terrace along the side facade has some difficult corners, for which we provided customized seating in the form of 2 large corner benches. In between is the captains table accompanied by 2 beautiful planters with a few sturdy olive trees. In the end, the whole place was fitted with some cushions made from their old flags (they needed replacing anyway!).
