Origin of rock products

The founding father of rock products, Peter Schellekens already made his own garden furniture in his student days. At that time, scaffolding wood was completely upcoming. Through intensive use of the furniture he also saw the shortcomings and limitations of scaffold wood. After all, it always rots to the ground and the joints always become weak over time. Also, the legs and back were very laborious and often heavy.

The result was that after several years you could simply throw your furniture away. The bottom boards were completely rotten and the joints had become so loose that everything wobbled and I ended up not daring to let my guests sit on it.

Surely there had to be another way....

And so the C3 bench was born. Peter came up with a design where no wood would be in contact with the ground. The connections between the seat and legs would have to be super strong and the backrest stable, but above all easy to make.

The concept of the C3 bench with the concrete standing elements and the steel backrest was born. As a true industrial designer, of course many concepts passed the revue and finally the current design was chosen. After extensive testing and some fine-tuning of the design, the current design was put into production.

Of course, there was soon a demand for a table and other related products, so the range gradually expanded.
